Reflexivity

Howdy God:)
Hoep you are well. Read the blog and couldnt resist mentioning the conversation I had with my mom last night. She was at a hospital all day because one of my aunts who is a breast cancer survivor was back in the OT after being diagnosed with cancer again. My mom was sitting next to a guy whose 19 year old daughter had blood cancer. How life treats some of us is disturbing and how we loose perspective sometimes is even more disturbing.

Just thought of you this morning and wanted to say hi. I am so out of context:)

IlaBila, you are (surprisingly, smile) NOT "out of context" this time around. The quote from Einstein is about compassion, just as jake emphasizes. I think it is often easy to lose touch with optimistism when we feel or witness pain - but this is, of course, when it matters most.

We are deceived by the fact that we are humans with human consciousness.... we rarely venture outside the realms of our human consciousness, and thus we see the world with human eyes. Naturally, the vast majority of people are blind to this because humans are predisposed and 'programmed' to construct the world in human terms.

I agree with Jake (hi jake). As I get older and see around, I realize that some of us are so removed from human(ness) that optimism does not come to me with any ease. Am I supposed to be optimistic in a world where humans have messed up everything so much that they are running out of options, sort of....
I was talking to someone yesterday and they were making fun of me because I told them that I THINK I will not kill an animal to survive in a situation where meat was my only chance of not dying of starvation. Talking of constructing "the world in human terms"...
