Last night’s dream was about

Last night’s dream was about Laurene – at least it was happy! Must bode well for today…countdown…less than 90 minutes…
Two great workshops yesterday: Anna Witter-Merithew’s on decision-making in legal settings. she shared 6 cases in which murderer’s confessions were suppressed because of problems with the interpretation of the Miranda warning. Intense! There were some non-linguistic decisions identified too (though she didn’t use that term). 🙂
Then, Melanie Metzger opened her section of one of the interpreter trainer workshops with some comments on how the discourse of being in role, out of role, breaking role, don’t help us with understanding the flexibility needed in performing our jobs. I was really hoping she could join one of my panels but she had to leave this morning. bummer.
